Review on Benzothiazoles: Different Methods of Synthesis and Advances in Diverse Pharmacological Activities of Benzothiazole Derivatives

Abstract


Benzothiazole is a class of heterocyclic compound having two hetero atoms namely sulphur and nitrogen. It is a two membered ring heterocyclic moiety, weak base. Benzothiazole derivatives are an important class of heterocyclic compounds. Heterocyclic compounds and their derivatives have attracted strong interest due to their biological and pharmacological properties.

The Benzothiazole and its derivatives have a significant role in synthetic, medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry because of its pharmacological properties. The benzothiazole compounds possess diverse biological activities, like antimicrobial, anticancer, anticonvulsant, anthelmintic, antifungal, anthelmintic, anti-diabetic etc. This review focused on the different methods of synthesis of substituted benzothiazoles that posss different biological activity.
