Abstract

The article highlights definition, meaning plus the  advantages and disadvantages of open access. It shows the development of open access journals in the present era. It gives the brief idea of how open access is helping the user community in getting the information needed by them without much efforts. It also shows that the modern users are slowly opting open source mode for their information needs.
