Modern Progress in the Design of Various Heterocycles as Anti-Tubercular Agents

Tuberculosis (TB) is still the second most imperative infectious disease worldwide due to the unusual structure and chemical composition of the mycobacterial cell wall. The effective TB treatment is difficult, which makes many antibacterial drugs ineffective and hinders the entry of drugs. The most important reason for this is drug resistant TB (MDR, XDR), persistent infection (latent TB) and synergism of TB with HIV; furthermore lack new chemical entity has come in the last few decades. The application of drug designing promised to bring significant development in the fight against TB.
